Sermon Bible Verses
Verses from NKJV unless otherwise noted:
. Revelation 3:14-19
Write to Laodicea, to the Angel of the church. God's Yes, the
Faithful and Accurate Witness, the First of God's creation,
says: "I know you inside and out, and find little to my liking.
You're not cold, you're not hot--far better to be either cold or
hot! You're stale. You're stagnant. You make me want to vomit.
You brag, "I'm rich, I've got it made, I need nothing from
anyone,' oblivious that in fact you're a pitiful, blind beggar,
threadbare and homeless. "Here's what I want you to do: Buy your
gold from me, gold that's been through the refiner's fire. Then
you'll be rich. Buy your clothes from me, clothes designed in
Heaven. You've gone around half-naked long enough. And buy
medicine for your eyes from me so you can see, really see. "The
people I love, I call to account--prod and correct and guide so
that they'll live at their best. Up on your feet, then! About
face! Run after God!(MSG)
Matthew 7:21-27
"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the
kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in
heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we
not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and
done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to
them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice
lawlessness!' "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine,
and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his
house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and
the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for
it was founded on the rock. "But everyone who hears these
sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish
man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the
floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it
fell. And great was its fall."
Isaiah 31:1
Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, And rely on horses,
Who trust in chariots because they are many, And in horsemen
because they are very strong, But who do not look to the Holy
One of Israel, Nor seek the LORD!
Psalm 143:8
Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For in You
do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For
I lift up my soul to You.
Psalm 56:4
In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I
will not fear. What can flesh do to me?
Psalm 56:11
In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can man
do to me?
Psalm 93:3
The floods have lifted up, O LORD, The floods have lifted up
their voice; The floods lift up their waves.
1 Timothy 6:8
And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.
Psalm 121:1-8
I will lift up my eyes to the hills-- From whence comes my help?
My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. He will
not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not
slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor
sleep. The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade at your
right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by
night. The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall
preserve your soul. The LORD shall preserve your going out and
your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.
